Inspiration

The Dance
Extracted from a major pictorial work by the artist Caroline Basuyau, Dance attempts to describe a sumptuous and still preserved underwater nature. A captured moment, a surprise offered, the artist places us in the intimacy of a luminescent coral reef, a school of surprised fish, scatters in front of the spectator. The superposition of patterns, the use of flat areas of bright colours create the illusion of perspective and play with our perception to project movement. The background pattern with Polynesian flowers is a recurrence in the Maison Fétiche scarves, it is the affirmation of a deep anchoring to these territories made of mysterious and phantasmagorical islands. It is a hymn to beauty and opulence of nature in perpetual representation.
