In this work by Caroline Basuyau, we hesitate to define who is a spectator, who observes who. The movements of the two birds seem frozen, their alert postures give the impression that the forest was silent when the visitor arrived. The foreigner is the spectator, the human being who is no longer an integral part of nature, as if rejected from Eden, as if disconnected.
\nHere the day seems to rise over this thousand-year-old forest, still intact, the blue patterns in the background represent water, the riverbank or a waterfall, the timelessness of the water’s flow, the immutable aspect of certain things.<\/p>\n
